This is your life.

Those of you who are my age may remember that television show.  The host was Ralph Edwards and I think it ran until the early 60's.  One thing for certain is that for each of us, we've had a major change to our life over the past six months.  Our life has a new chapter or maybe several new chapters.

After a long pause, I am back to posting on my blog.  Retired Mountain Man's cancer tests are all good.  No cancer.  That said, we have spent the past month dealing with the side effects of the treatment and it has not been a pretty picture.  I can report this morning that it's possible he may have finally turned a corner and is feeling better.  I say that cautiously, since we have thought that before only to find out we were wrong.   We are hopeful.

Yes, we are hopeful in so many ways after all of the turmoil our country is going through.   As they say, we are watching history in the making and this time I hope that change will happen. 

Here on the mountain things are moving along as usual.  We are having one of our rainy introductions to summer which means the garden is planted in stages.   All of the rain means lots of green grass and mowing of the lawn.

I took a break from the garden to play with the Cougar Creek Band.  They were recording a couple of songs for Street Music Week and the Second Harvest fundraiser.   

We decided that it could be done by playing outdoors and social distancing and we found the perfect location at the Hope Elementary School.  

I was there but didn't play a note since RMM had an urgent issue with one of his new medications.  We thought he might have to go to the emergency room again, but luckily that was avoided.  

I saw their video on FB and they all sounded great.  It was for a good cause and a bit of fun to see everyone.  

Today we are in for another rainy day with a 1/2 inch to 3/4 of inch of rain expected.  One thing for certain, it's going to be green for a few more days.

Dear friends and family, please stay safe.  The virus is still out there looking for a body to infect.  It doesn't care if you are a conservative or a liberal, a Democrat or Republican.   There are many people who think it is just like the flu and that because we have so few cases here, it is safe.   

American individualism says everyone can do what they want.  It's a personal decision to get a haircut, go to a bar, be in a crowd.  The virus doesn't care about your personal beliefs.  Be careful.

When you are out in public, please wear a mask and stay home as much as possible.  

Life is precious.
