Well, if I ever figure out how to post the rest of the "how to" photos. I will update this.

Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies
I love this recipe and I have baked them every year for about 30 years. Dang, I'm old. It's from the Clarkfork Methodist Women cookbook and the recipe is from Mrs. Anna M. White.
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 tsp. baking powder
Flour to make a soft dough
2 eggs
2 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Cream butter and sugar well. Add eggs. Add baking powder to flour and sift, then add to butter and sugar mixture. Keep adding flour necessary until dough can be rolled very thin. Cut with cookie cutter. Sprinkle top with sugar. Bake in hot oven. 375 Degrees 7-9 min.
I prefer to frost them with butter cream frosting.
3 Tsp. soft butter
Powdered sugar
3 Tsp. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Blend until smooth. Add additional powdered sugar if it seems to thin.
Wine Cold Stablization
Jon and I racked all the wine into new carboys and moved all 5 carboys to our bedroom where the temp is Very cold! We have been in the single digits this past week and since we keep our window open, it's quite cool in there. Brrr! It's perfect for storing the wine for the next month or so. We tasted a sample from each carboy and so far they all taste good. If all goes well we have 5 gallons of elderberry-grape wine, 5 gal. grape wine, 5 gal. elderberry wine, 5 gal. white wine, 5 gal. elderberry blossom-white wine.
Should be an interesting wine year.
Under protest we bundled up today to go for a short walk. I just don't like it, I don't want to do it, and I am darn tired of walking outside when it's 10 degrees!!! Thirty-two degrees is not bad, even 25 degrees can be tolerated but nothing below 15! Ok.
Also, we do not have any snow. This is very upsetting. It is getting close to Christmas and it's very difficult to keep up the buying/spending spree without snow. The weather situation is just not working for me.

Holidays
Our Thanksgiving days were filled with lots of fun, games, baby hugs and kisses, good food and more! On to the next holiday! I have been listening to my Christmas CD's, and shopping online for just the right gifts. I hate shopping in stores so I am the perfect online customer. Amazon.com loves me.
Jon and I had our "night out" at DiLuna's. Dinner and great music. We listened to three different couples. Doug and Kim Bond playing acoustic guitar and string bass. Then Bruce and Beth played a variety of songs from Ticket to Chicago to Sixteen Tons to Christmas music. Bruce played acoustic and electric guitars and the weissenborn. The weissenborn sounds like a steel guitar. Talented musicians!
Ann and I cut boughs to make our wreathes and centerpieces on Sunday. The boughs smell so good! We used a mixture of pine, cedar, red fir and white fir. Ann made a wreathe for Kate that had a recorder, a sled and and a snowman on it. We listened to Christmas music and drank peppermint tea and made the wreathes. No, you can't drink wine and make wreathes, they turn out funny looking.
It's a lot of fun.
