I am posting some photos of this morning's sunrise on the mountain.  It's going to be a nice sunny day here.

My wave petunia is finally blooming.

I planted 68 zinnias on Wed. and all of these are next on the list

The broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage look good.  The grapevines  are starting to leaf out.

It's a little misty this morning.

Mowing your lawn? Don't forget to wear your earmuffs.

I put it off for as long as I can, but it's finally time to start the lawn mowing schedule. 


 Fortunately, RMM decided to take a photo of me mowing the lawn.  My lawn mowing gear is quite fashionable.  I always wear my hearing protection muffs and top them off with my gardening hat.  I am adding red socks to my outfit after seeing a photo of Isthereanymorepie's friend Sharon, who wears pink socks when she is mowing the lawn.

One should look flashy when mowing the lawn.  I think I may need even more red.

Retired Mountain Man has been out in the woods searching for mushrooms.  He's very good at it. 

 I have dried seven trays of coral mushrooms.  If you can't find morels, coral mushrooms are the next best thing.  They have a mild nutty taste and are excellent added to a spaghetti sauce or an omelet.  

That's it for "on the mountain".  I am in a holding mode on my gardening due to the cold, rainy weather.  That means there's more time for music and maybe some painting, the watercolor kind.   (I am going to paint the walls and ceiling in our bathroom, but it takes me a minimum of 3 months of thinking about it before I can actually make myself do it.) 

 I have only been thinking about for a month. 

What some people will do to catch Kokanee...

Last weekend was the annual Father's Day fishing trip at Lake Mary Ronan.  The guys stayed in Cabin #1.  All the comforts of home and its located right on the lake.

This is the "are we having fun yet" photo.  It doesn't look like it was raining - yet.

Retired Mountain Man gets geared up for rain and cold.  I hope he doesn't fall in the lake because he will definitely sink to the bottom with all of those clothes on.

OK, so it's raining now, but they were catching fish.

I heard that in the middle of one of the thunderstorms, RMM lost his red hat.   He convinced the rest of them that they needed to turn around and go back to net his hat.   I think they risked life and limb just to retrieve "THE" red hat.


By the time the rescued the hat and made it back to the dock they were pretty soaked. Here's a photo of them hanging up all of their wet clothes to dry.

I heard that a lot of poker was played and that JP was the big winner this time.

 While the men were all fishing at the lake, the girls and I along with the grandkids went to Missoula for some fun.







The fist night Griz Eileen went with us to take Ben to the Arcade at the bowling alley.  Here he is trying out the basketball game.

We met up the next day at Currents, the water park at McCormick Park.  Erin, Max and Aylssa met us there along with Melissa, Collin and Rylee.

It was too dark to get very good photos.  If you look closely you can just see Collin's head as he walks up for about the thirtieth time to go down the water slide.

There was a small slide for toddlers.  It was perfect for Max and Ben.

This was Ben's first time at the park, but it only took a few minutes and he wanted to go down the big slide.

After the water park Collin and I went to see the new Star Trek movie.  I'm not sure who my new favorite character is in these new Star Trek movies, but I think it is Spock.   It was also in 3D which was a first for Grandma. 

 The whole group went out for breakfast, did a little shopping and then it was time for Grandma to "beam" home. 
 

I love durt!

I'm retired and I'm really not sure what that means, but today I am taking the day off -- from retirement. 

The blackberries have been weeded.  The raspberries have been weeded.  The vegetable garden is tilled and I have planted broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and 4 dozen onion plants.  That is all I am going to do in garden this week. 

Today I am going to go to my friend Kathy's to paint with watercolors.  It is so much fun - I can't wait.  (I think I am a lot like my 3 year old grandson, Ben, who also can't wait for most events to happen)

The spoon in Ben's bouquet is a garden marker that is inscribed with the words, " I love durt".

My Rototilling Song....

There's no time for play, there's no time for fun..... because there is work to be done.   Meaning it's time to till the garden.

I will be humming to this tune while I'm out there.
