Maggie Update

Miss Maggie is now five months old.  She spent the first few months of her life as a terrorist but has since 

reformed into a very nice puppy.  I believe she is approaching her teenage months so we shall see if she 

reverts back to a terrorist or not.  She has decided that she likes to dig and has some very large holes 

underneath the porch.  This is fine, except that she has also decided that she should dig in some of my flower

beds.  Not acceptable!  One more bad habit we have to break. 

Cougar Creek Band, should we keep playing?

 Our new lead vocalist for the band chicks shows off her new jacket and cowboy boots.

 Stillhouse Singer and her husband, Banjo Man, have left us and are on their way back to Rhode 

Island.  I just don't understand why they want to go back there every fall.  There must be something really 

enticing back there.  Maybe it's the seafood?  

We played some great tunes this summer, drank our share of wine, peach margaritas and beer.  We also

enjoyed some awesome food.  Not only do these people like to play music, they are also great

cooks and love to eat!

 It was quite the group on the 4th of July.     Just look at all those happy people!    No one does it better 

than the Krewe of Cougar Creek on the 4th!

 However, we did miss playing a dumpster gig this summer.  Somehow we just didn't get it worked in.  That is disappointing.

 But we did rock the park at the Clark Fork Centennial Celebration!

 Should we repeat this again next summer? 

A Pile of Peppers to Pickle

Beautiful end of summer days here.  The temperature has been about 75 with a very nice breeze in the afternoon.  It has been the perfect weather to get back into the garden, tilling, weeding and harvesting.  My peppers are growing like crazy and some of the Jalapeno peppers are even turning orange and red.  I harvested all of the cauliflower, pulled most of the onions so that they start drying out and dug one row of potatoes.  It's veggie time.  Tonight we are eating the first picking of Candy Corn.

I have decided to can some marinated peppers so that will be my next project.  I will do that when the weather heats back up.  Can you believe we are going back up into the 90's next week?  That is pretty unusual for us.  Maybe some of the tomatoes will get ripe.

1966 - The Band!

 Lonnie Leach-rhythm guitar, Don Reineke-lead guitar, Scott Krause-bass guitar, Tabby Beat-drums, and Retired Mountain Lady on the keyboard.  Look at that hair! 


 Our opener was always, Wipeout.  Was it played by The Ventures?  Our drummer could really knock that one out of the park!  There weren't many bands with "a female" drummer in the 60's.

 The latest style, culottes.  The guys in the band called them our pajamas.  Tabby saw the design in a copy of Mademoiselle Magazine and had a seamstress make them for us. 


 What other songs did we play?  Gloria, Satisfaction, Last Time, Louie Louie, Bring it on Home, Mr. Tambourine Man, Woolly Bully, My Girl.....I can't remember anymore.

A little nap is one of the best things! Especially on great grandma's lap! Oh, and by the way, "Go Big Red!"

Man, I love getting hugs from my grandpa and grandma!  Give me more! 

Cousins?  I didn't know I had cousins????  Wow!  They're really nice!

Hmmm. Let me see what that feels like.  Interesting.  I wonder if it comes off?

Wow!  Another kid like me but bigger and he has teeth!

Music!  I love it!  Please play a song just for me, Neil!  You're awesome! This is so cool!
