Clark Fork 4th of July Parade

The parade on the 4th of July is quite an event.  Everyone is either in the parade or turns out to cheer the participants as they march down Main Street.  It is great time for everyone from the baby pulled in the decorated wagon to the oldest veteran marching with the color guard (who commented that they wouldn't let him carry a gun this year).  What a great place to celebrate the day.  Thanks to Melissa for taking the photos!

Everybody Needs Somebody to Love

Our thanks goes out to Miss Lady, from Helmville, Montana.  She came to visit us over the 4th of July weekend.  Who is this Miss Lady?  She is a very polite mixed breed dog (Australian Shepherd, dingo, yellow lab???) about two years old, who had lots of energy.  She spent her entire weekend teaching our toddler puppy, Maggie, some dog manners.  She did a great job. I only wish I had thought to take a picture of them.  They spent hours together running and playing and when Miss Maggie misbehaved, Lady just put her in her place.  It was exactly what Maggie needed.  She is starting to learn some manners and everyone enjoyed playing with her.  Mollie got a nice break from puppy always nagging her.

Whew!  I was starting to wonder what the return policy was on the dog.  Funny, the breeder never said a thing about it.......

Nebraska Crowd

 Roy and Jamie fired off about 36 artillery shells and Roy brought the finale', "A Hard Act to Follow", which was a 25 shot firework extravaganza with one fuse.  The finale was awesome with "The Stars and Stripes Forever" playing over the mountains!  A beautiful evening.  Trav and Cindy and girls joined us as well as Neil and Ann along with Charlie and Yuan.

What a good lookin' crowd!  Grandma is 87 years young.

Clark Fork Centennial Gig

The Cougar Creek Band played their hearts out at the celebration despite the difficult situation with the sound system.  The volunteer sound technician did what he could and we all managed to make it through the set.  We played a rousing rendition of "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love" with an awesome horn section.  The strings did a great job on "New River Train, Jambalaya, and Memphis".  The recorder was beautiful on Jambalaya along with the accordion.  It was great day!
