Thanksgiving Preparations

I am slowly getting ready for the big turkey day. A little house cleaning here and a little house cleaning there. Ppppfft! It's done! Just like magic. The fairy princess maid has been here. I love it! I hope you have a fairy princess too!
Now that my house is clean I can start baking and cooking all the yummy things for Thanksgiving. Hmmm. Not good for my diet...
We had a warm day so I put up my outdoor holiday lights and made a door swag with boughs, etc. I also have my pineapple turkey thanks to my good friend Ann!

Cute Grandkids!

We are having such great fall weather! I love it! I think my favorite temp is 40 degrees with a little breeze. We are getting some rain off and on, but nothing major yet. It's perfect for walking.

There's a lot going on at JP's house. First he brought home the venison and he and Melissa worked on getting it in the freezer. Not an easy job. He sent me Collin and Rylee's school photos! Cute grandkids! His company was bringing up a new project online so he had to work late Wed. night.

New toy

I bought a new toy at the Goodwill yesterday! $3.99 and it sounds pretty good. It has full size keys, which is a nice feature. Look out Krewe Band!

Jon and I hiked around and hunted for oyster mushrooms several days, but there aren't many this year. Oyster mushrooms grow on dead birch trees, sometimes on alder. I have only dried about 4 trays. I don't think we've had enough rain this year. I love hunting for them. It's so much fun to be out in the woods. The air is so fresh and crisp, not too cold this year. Trying to spot those little jewels is just like hunting for Easter Eggs.
