Recap

Let's see....we enjoyed 25 dozen oysters on the barbecue, of which Travis fried 10 doz. in a cast iron skillet on his grill.  He also grilled yummy elk burgers.  To go along with the oysters and the clams, we chowed down 4 doz. ears of sweet corn which Jim and Lena brought to the party, roasted new potatoes from Ellie and Bob and countless other scrumptious side dishes and desserts.  Man oh man, what a way to celebrate summer and great friends and family!

The kids were enthusiastic participants in our collection of games and the obstacle course!  It was as much fun to watch as it was to participate.

The music was awesome, especially the singing.  We started singing at about 9:00 p.m. and ended at 11:30 without a break.  It think we sang 79 of the 84 songs in the book.   We had some great harmonica sounds, a great guitar accompanist, Fred (Jeff?), a little bit of violin from Kristine and Bruce held it all together with his bass guitar.

Needless to say, everyone was moving a little slowly the next day and we were very grateful that Ben decided to sleep until 8:00 a.m. and that Collin and Rylee, who were up earlier than that, played quietly until the adults woke up.

What great memories we have of last weekend!
